<p>Have you ever wondered where you can get to in 2 hours by public transport from Oxford Circus? The Jeppesen Journey Planner API can now provide the answer to that query and the maps in this article are examples of how you can display the answer. The map shows you could reach any one of 58,298 public transport stops spread across the South East of Britain.</p>
<p>An isochrone is a line of equal time, in the same way that an isobar is a line of equal pressure on a weather map</p>

This was a hack event held by Transport for Greater Manchester as part of the FutureEverything conference. Their stated aim for the competition was “To build new, useful applications from TfGM’s data that will drive improvements to the way people travel in Greater Manchester.”  The team won “Best use of multiple datasets” for the iPad app ‘Locus’.
